Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding position? A Fortune 500 company is seeking a Prior Authorization Representative. This is an on-site role in the Phoenix, AZ area. This position involves extensive member contact via the telephone. Handling inbound/outbound calls from participants and/or prescribers. Call center environment. Must have prior authorization experience. 

Job Title: Medical Prior Authorization Representative

Start Date: Must be available to start immediately

Length of Assignment: Possible Temp to Hire position

Shift:

• Must be flexible to work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with a rotating Saturday schedule
• Training Schedule: M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 PM

Compensation:

• Pay rate is $17.50/hr.
• Weekly pay schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Verify insurance coverage for potential new clients.
• Re-verify insurance coverage for existing patients in order to process patient prescriptions needs successfully.
• Processing Prior Authorizations.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance carriers.
• Research and investigate orders using PeopleSafe and LINKS.
• Research issues sent by Customer Care, Account Managers, and internal customers.
• Notify requestor of decisions, changes, or other relevant information pertaining to the request/inquiry.
• Research and resolve payment issues.
• Call to offer a direct sale of medications to participants and posting payments to the proper account.
• Perform required transactions to complete mail order prescriptions.

Requirements:

• 1 year minimum in a customer service or call center environment.
• Must have previous prior authorization experience.
• Must have effective empathetic communication style in managing calls and communication.
• Computer experience is required. (MS Outlook, Word, and Excel)
• Data Entry skills
• Experience in a health care setting or insurance industry is a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
