Job Summary:
The Processor can work in various departments within the company: offering tax support/information to employer submitted local earned income and local services tax payments as well as process local tax returns according to local, state, and federal guidelines. The processor will assist with other tasks to support the team, other business units, perform outbound calls, receive phone calls and emails. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, responsible, and punctual and possess strong computer skills.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7AM-3PM, 7:30AM-3:30PM OR 8AM-4PM w/30 minute unpaid lunch. **Scheduled hours will depend on specific department working in.
Pay rate: $14/hr. This is a possible temp to hire position. **Hybrid work available after training period. Length of training is determined by the supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Customer service via the phone
- Properly memo after calls and emails
- Research using multiple applications
- Utilize knowledge of tax types collected by company
- Utilize knowledge of municipalities and school districts for which company collects taxes
- Process manual submissions, electronic submissions, and online processing of earned income tax & local services tax
- Learn and utilize PA guidelines for withholding & filing local taxes
- Mail out balance due letters when necessary
- Review documentation to determine what is and is not taxable
- Ability to sufficiently memo the company taxpayer service applications
- Demonstrated ability to listen and retain knowledge
- Ability to accurately and attentively complete detailed tasks
- Keep up to date regarding changes in daily responsibilities or job processes
Job Qualifications:
- High school graduate or have an equivalency certificate (GED)
- Previous customer service telephone experience is preferred
- Prior banking or accounting experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Moderate level research skills
- Problem-solving/Reasoning skills
- Ability to work with numbers
- Demonstrated ability to listen and retain knowledge
- Ability to accurately and attentively complete detailed tasks
- Keep up to date regarding changes in daily responsibilities or job processes
