Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Auditor to join our team. The Coding Quality Auditor collaborates with coding teams, compliance officers, and clinical staff to support continuous improvement in coding quality, adherence to ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory standards, and optimization of reimbursement processes.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Auditor to join our team. The Coding Quality Auditor collaborates with coding teams, compliance officers, and clinical staff to support continuous improvement in coding quality, adherence to ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory standards, and optimization of reimbursement processes.
Pay rate: – $23.65/hr. Weekly Pay
Hours: Monday – Friday 6AM-3PM, 7AM-4PM OR 8AM-5PM depending on time zone candidate resides in
Location: Fully Remote
Start Date: 7/14, 7/21, or 7/28
Employment Type: Temporary – Position will last until 11/30/25
Duties:
- Validating and reviewing Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) risk adjustable charts through retrospective chart reviews.
- Focuses on ensuring accurate, complete, and compliant ICD-10 coding for risk adjustment submission to CMS.
- Applies clinical documentation standards and industry guidelines to support coding decisions.
- Contributes to audit accuracy, process improvements, and helps maintain compliance with state/federal regulations and internal policies.
Experience/Requirements:
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding with strong understanding of HCC risk adjustment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in retrospective chart reviews.
- Familiarity with CMS coding guidelines and HIPAA-compliant data handling.
- Candidates must have experience working with Microsoft Office tools and industry-standard coding platforms.
- Prior experience in retrospective risk adjustment audits and validation is preferred.
- All audits must be performed in compliance with HIPAA privacy and security rules.
- AA/AS degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Completion of an AAPC or AHIMA coding program (e.g., CPC, CCS-P, CRC) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant coding/audit experience.
