We are looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Pharmacy Technician to join a National Leader in the Pharmacy retail space!
This position is responsible for screening orders, research, accurately and efficiently reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into the computer system in a timely fashion, and/ or thinking through and solving escalated prescription issues.
**Must have a Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Texas**
Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Onsite – San Antonio, Texas for training. After indefinite training period, position will be remote.
Shift:
- Must be flexible to work anytime between the hours of 8:00 AM – 7:30 PM, Saturday shift required every 6 weeks.
- Training is ONSITE. After training position will be REMOTE.
Compensation:
- Pay rate is $19.31 per hour.
- Weekly pay schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Direct questionable prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification and enter incomplete prescription information once clarification has been obtained and complete appropriate described patient letter.
- Offer solutions needed to help simplify the customer health care experience.
- Entering patient and prescription information into system, and faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes.
- Resolve and enter incomplete prescriptions after clarification is obtained.
- Assist/perform other pharmacy functions and duties as required.
Requirements:
- Must have a pharmacy technician license in the state of Texas.
- Must have pharmacy technician experience.
- Adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
- Rapid keyboarding skills while maintaining 100% accuracy.
- Able to meet specified production and quality standards as defined by the management team.
- Able to recognize and identify commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration of these drugs.
- General knowledge of commonly used generic drugs.
- Able to understand and interpret Latin symbols commonly used on prescriptions medications and able write routine correspondence.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. This includes the ability to calculate dosages and days-supply prescriptions.
- Must be flexible and enjoy working in a fast pace, team-oriented environment.
- Preferred experience: Minimum of 6 months in a high-volume call center, preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar service position.
- Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of Pharmacy Tech training program.
